Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies CareCompetent uses, why, and how you can change your mind at any time. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use the term broadly here to also cover similar technologies, such as data stored in your browser’s local storage, which we use for the same purposes.

2. The cookies we use

We group cookies into three categories. Only the first is ever set without asking you.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off. They are set regardless of any choice you make in the cookie banner. Examples:

  • A Firebase Authentication session cookie, which keeps you signed in between visits.
  • Cookies set by Stripe during checkout, on Stripe’s own domain, to process payment securely.
  • A cookie that remembers your cookie preferences, so we do not ask again on every visit.

Analytics

None in use currently — any analytics cookies we introduce in future will only run with your consent, given through the cookie banner or the “Cookie settings” link.

Marketing

None in use currently — any marketing cookies we introduce in future will only run with your consent, given through the cookie banner or the “Cookie settings” link.

3. Your choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you accept all non-essential cookies, reject them, or open “Manage preferences” to choose analytics and marketing separately. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and strictly necessary cookies are never affected by your choice.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer, or from the dashboard if you are signed in. This reopens the preferences panel so you can update your choices.

4. How long your choice is kept

Your cookie preferences are stored for around six months. After that, or if we make a material change to how we use cookies, we will ask you again.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we introduce a new cookie category. The current version is always available here.
